Prof. Zhao, a visiting scholar and postdoctoral fellow of University of Michigan, serving as a Professor at School of Machinery Automation and an Office Director of the Hubei Key Laboratory of Mechanical Transmission and Manufacturing Engineering at Wuhan University of Science and Technology, is awarded a title of leading talent for technological innovation by Yangzhou government. He also serves as a fellow of National Committee of Green Manufacturing Standardization Technology of China Machinery Industry Federation, the Deputy Secretary General of Hubei Committee of Green and Low-Carbon Standardization Technology, and the fellow of Optical Valley Smart Energy Industry Innovation Standards Alliance. He dedicates himself in Industrial Metabolism and Industrial Ecology, Intelligent Equipment and Its Green Manufacturing. Due to his leading contributions, he was awarded the second prize of Science and Technology Progress Award by Hubei provincial government 3 times. He also won the third prize of National Metallurgical Science and Technology Award, and the third prize of Hubei Provincial Teaching Achievement Award. He took charge of 6 national and provincial programs supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Research and Development Program of Hubei Province, Research Fund for Returned Overseas Scholars from Ministry of Education, as well as Natural Science Foundation of Hubei Province. As an important role, he also took part in more than 50 research projects supported by National Science and Technology Supporting Program and Research Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as the local authorities and industrial enterprises. He published more than 70 academic articles as the first author on the remarkable international journals, in which over 30 were indexed by SCI/EI. 2 academic manuscripts were published. As the first inventor, he obtained 14 national patents and software copyrights granted by the authority of China.

美国密歇根大学访问学者、博士后，机械传动与制造工程湖北省重点实验室办公室主任，扬州市“绿杨金凤计划”创新领军人才。全国绿色制造技术标准化技术委员会专家委员、湖北省绿色低碳标准化技术委员会副秘书长、光谷智慧能源产业创新标准联盟专家委员。主要研究方向为工业代谢与工业生态、智能装备及其绿色制造。获湖北省科技进步二等奖3项，全国冶金科学技术三等奖1项，湖北省教学成果三等奖1项。主持国家自然科学基金、教育部留学回国人员科研基金、湖北省重点研发计划、湖北省自然科学基金项目6项，承担其他国家科技支撑计划、国家自然科学基金项目及企业合作项目50余项。发表一作论文70余篇，其中中科院1区TOP期刊论文和SCI/EI收录论文30余篇，出版学术专著2部，作为第一发明人获国家授权专利、软著14项。
